Your Questions, My Answers
Here you will find a list of some of the most frequently asked questions. If your question is not among them, just contact me using the Contact Form.
What instruments do you repair?
We will repair your brass instrument; trumpet (pistons and rotor valves), trombone, marching horn, baritone horn, euphonium, tuba, or sousaphone. We will repair your woodwind: flute, piccolo, clarinet, saxophone (soprano, alto, baritone, bass), oboe, or English horn.
How long will it take?
We pride ourselves on our prompt service. We understand that you need your instrument back quickly. As part of our initial entry estimate we will always give you an accurate time frame. A quick adjustment necessary for tomorrow's performance or an overhaul and lacquer for a special holiday gift? We'll always do our best to get your instrument back to you quickly and in top form.
Do you service stringed instruments?
Yes. We replace bridges, fretwork, tuners, set sound posts, fix cracks, and replace strings.
Drop - Ins?
No. Sorry, You'll need to call ahead. We function on appointment only basis.
How much is my instrument worth?
It is difficult to estimate the value of an instrument without an inspection. Please make an appointment and we can give you a market value price on your instrument for resale or insurance purposes.
Can you sell me the parts so I can fix it myself?
No, we don't encourage the do-it yourselfer. Many of the instruments we get in the shop show evidence of " I tried to fix it myself"; Crazy glue, Elmer's glue, tape, solder, putty won't do the trick and often do more damage than good. Please leave repairs to the professional. Students jam the strangest things into instruments; we've extracted legos, candy, marbles, and doll parts. In DIY mode parents often cause bigger problems trying to dislodge foreign objects and "patch" instruments together. Please give us a call and let us get your instrument back in playing condition.
